Abstract: The article shows the results of the study of antonyms, based on the hypothesis that journalists use antonyms in the titles of their articles very often to express creativity and intention, two very important characteristics of the journalistic substyle of the publicistic style. The focus of the study are the contextual antonymisation and the antonymy in phrasal expressions, which are commonly used in the titles of journalistic articles in Macedonian language. Some of the conclusions refer to the grammatical aspect (the antonymisation from the point of view of morphology and of syntax). The complexity of the antonymy when defined more broadly was taken in consideration during the research.
